Jason LoMonaco is a partner in the firm. Jason has represented cooperative, condominium and homeowners associations in all kinds of litigation, first in New York for 7 years and, throughout Georgia for the past 20 years. An accomplished attorney, Jason has extensive civil litigation experience in matters related to real estate, non-profit corporations and community associations ranging from the enforcement, interpretation and application of covenants and easements to property damage and title claims, to corporate fiduciary and governance disputes. Having earned the esteem of his colleagues, Jason has been asked to serve as an expert witness, mediator and a receiver in community association lawsuits. Jason has also been approached by members of the judiciary to serve as a special master in complex community association litigation. Jason has defended community associations and their managers throughout Georgia as panel counsel for several major director and officer and general liability insurance companies.
Prior to NowackHoward, Jason was a partner in both the community association and litigation departments at Weissman, Nowack, Curry & Wilco. While practicing in New York he litigated civil actions and eviction proceedings on behalf of condominiums, cooperatives and residential and commercial landlords. Jason’s expertise in community association litigation has resulted in 10 published opinions from the Georgia Court of Appeals favorable to the industry.
Jason has written several articles for Georgia Commons, published by the Georgia Chapter of the Community Associations Institute and Community Advisor, a WNCW/NH publication for community association clients. Jason has also written articles and lectured for the New York Association of Realty Managers. A frequent speaker, Jason presented at WNCW/NH’s annual Community Association Law Seminar, Board of Director and Community Manager classes hosted by WNCW/NH and the Annual National CAI Law Seminar. Jason also regularly lectures on community association issues to community managers, realtors and insurance professionals. He was named the 2011 “Educator of the Year” by the Georgia Chapter of the Community Associations Institute.
Jason is an active member of the Georgia Chapter of the Community Associations Institute, previously serving on the Magazine Committee, Nominating Committee and the Program Committee.
