Georgia’s Top Community Association Attorneys Announce New Firm
George Nowack and Julie Howard to Create NowackHoward, LLC

ATLANTA, GA (October 3, 2016) – The state’s two most distinguished attorneys serving the specialized and growing market of community associations today announced the creation of their new law firm, NowackHoward, LLC. George E. Nowack, Jr. and Julie McGhee Howard, with a combined 58-years of experience in the field, will head the new 18 person law firm here in Atlanta.

By mutual agreement, NowackHoward will absorb the current community association practice of Weissman, Nowack, Curry & Wilco, PC (WNCW), transferring clients and novating contracts relating to the practice.

Nowack, who co-founded WNCW 25 years ago, described the motivation for starting the new firm, saying, “While I’m immensely proud of what we achieved at WNCW, NowackHoward will now allow us to focus our full attention on homeowner and community associations. The number of such organizations has been rapidly increasing,” he said, “as has the complexity of the legal issues they face.”

The new firm will stress its advisory abilities, providing timely counsel aimed at protecting associations and diffusing or avoiding conflicts. “We will always be ready to act forcefully on behalf of our clients,” said Howard, who began her career as a litigator, “but if our collective experience and expertise can save our clients time, money, and headaches, that’s our preferred approach.”

Both Nowack and Howard served as President and Trustee of the international Community Associations Institute, and both have taught, spoken, and written about issues relating to these associations. In addition, Howard has testified before Georgia House and Senate committees on association-related legislation and Nowack has been quoted in articles for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and other publications on association-specific issues relating to fair housing, insurance coverage, and urban sprawl.

Nowack of North Atlanta graduated with a BA from Lehigh University, with highest honors, and earned his JD from Washington and Lee. Howard, who lives in Sandy Springs, received a BA from Furman University and a JD from University of Georgia School of Law.

The firm has taken offices at Resurgens Plaza (Suite 1250, 945 East Paces Ferry Road, NE) in Atlanta. NowackHoward’s website is nowackhoward.com.
