June 30, 2022, Atlanta, Ga. – We are thrilled to have Shelby Perdue join our team of HOA attorneys this summer. Perdue is a highly accomplished attorney with broad legal acumen and experience providing counsel to government and private organizations spanning a 13-year legal career. Most recently, Perdue served in a dual capacity as Asset Manager and General Counsel for a metro Atlanta real estate development firm facilitating a broad range of real estate business including residential and commercial new construction and renovation.

A graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction and the University of Mississippi School of Law, Perdue began her career as a Program Analyst for the Georgia Senate Budget and Evaluation Office. Perdue worked directly with State Senators to develop budget recommendations to the Georgia Senate Appropriations Committee and drafted budget related legislation related to the areas of criminal justice, the judicial branch and public safety.

From 2013-2018, Perdue served as an Assistant Attorney General with the Georgia Department of Law, and later as Associate Counsel for the Integrated Agencies of the Georgia State Properties Officer comprised of the Georgia Building Authority, Georgia State Financing, and Investment Commission and Georgia State Properties Commission. As Associate Counsel, Shelby routinely negotiated leases for state office space, reviewed proposed legislation and drafted agency policies, contracts and responses to the Georgia Open Records Act.

Perdue also spent several years early in her career in Tucson, Arizona, serving as an Assistant Attorney General in the Child and Family Protection Division, Child Support Services Section of the Arizona Office of the Attorney General managing a caseload of over two hundred cases, and ultimately being selected as 2013 Attorney of the Year for her division.

Perdue is a licensed Georgia Realtor and Registered Neutral and continues to be an active member of the Junior League of Atlanta, serving on the Political Affairs Committee.

Perdue joined the General Services team at NowackHoward on June 27, 2022. Perdue will work with our community association clients to develop policy and procedures that both match each association’s culture and the association’s directors business goals. Perdue shares the NowackHoward view on preventative law, striving to avoid difficulties before they arise. As part of the General Services team, Perdue will bring her full range of legal services and counsel to our community association clients, to help address contingencies that might arise.
