
Associate Attorney
Zeelita Smith is an associate attorney who advises clients on a wide range of governance, compliance, and operational matters. With more than seven years of legal experience, she brings a practical and client-focused approach to helping community associations navigate complex legal issues and make informed decisions.
Zeelita works closely with boards of directors and community association managers to identify legal risks, evaluate available options, and develop effective solutions tailored to each community’s unique needs. Her experience includes advising clients on regulatory compliance, interpreting governing documents, negotiating resolutions, litigation and providing guidance on day-to-day operational matters. She is known for her attention to detail, thoughtful analysis, and ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear and actionable advice.
Prior to joining Nowack Howard, Zeelita served as a Senior Associate Attorney with Moore Ingram Johnson & Steele, LLC, where she advised employers, insurers, and self-insured entities on complex regulatory and compliance matters. Before that, she practiced with Clark Lowery & Lumpkin, LLC, where she counseled clients through a variety of family law disputes, negotiations, mediations, and litigation-related matters while serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for clients.
Zeelita’s experience in mediation, negotiation, and client counseling enables her to provide well-rounded legal guidance that balances legal obligations with practical business and operational considerations. She is committed to helping clients achieve efficient, effective solutions while protecting the long-term interests of their communities.
Zeelita was born and raised in Metro-Atlanta and is a proud native of Clayton County. She currently resides in Marietta, Georgia and is active in her church’s music ministry. Zeelita faithfully supports the Georgia Bulldogs and enjoys spending her time with family and friends, traveling, and dining at new restaurants.
